Roy V Marshan

Roy was born in Scotland but is currently based in Sydney, Australia. He studied English and Film at the University of Sydney. Previously, he had his first short-story collection, Where We Were, published with MMH Press. It was a book that retold old myths and legends in new and exciting ways.

 

In his personal life, Roy has two rescue cats that devour much of his free time but he still often tries to set aside hours for working on short films or practicing music alongside his creative writing. Deprivation is his debut novel, a dystopian sci-fi set in a world of legal cannibalism. Roy struggles with falling asleep, often staying up far too late writing his books. Deprivation has been his way of anxiously immersing himself in the dreams and nightmares that sleep does not provide, but that the future seems to threaten.
